RuPaul Wins 2nd Consecutive Emmy Award for Reality Host

from edge media network –

Condragulations, Mama Ru!

RuPaul scored his second consecutive Emmy win for Best Host of a Reality or Reality-Competition Sunday night, Deadline reports.

Ru won the gold for hosting Season 9 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” which aired on VH1 for the first time after the series left its home on LogoTV. Deadline points out Ru wasn’t able to accept the award as he was at DragCon. A representative sent the website his reaction:

“I am beyond grateful to the Television Academy for giving love to our show again this year,” he said. “Providing an international platform for 113 outrageous, courageous and talented queens has been the greatest reward of all.

“None of this would be possible it weren’t for the incredible cast and crew of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ and my partners at World of Wonder and VH1,” Ru added.

“Drag Race” was nominated for a total of seven Emmy Awards, including Best Reality Competition Series. “Drag Race All Stars 3” will debut in spring 2018.

The Primetime Emmys air Sunday, September 17.
